In 1992, an Fern House was built within the premises of the Patna zoo with the aim of cultivating and propagating various species of fern. Over 30 different types of ferns were carefully planted in the
house, and the environmental conditions, including moisture and temperature, were modied to create an ideal habitat for these delicate plants. Initially, the project enjoyed some success, but unfortunately, it failed to achieve its intended purpose in the long run.
In light of the recent installation of orchids shows great visitors’ interest, there is now a proposal to repurposed structure and transform it into a comprehensive orchid house facility and its propagation. is decision aims to maximize the potential of the facility and provide visitors with an engaging and educational experience.
